Beethoven & Webern at the Quadrangle

  • The Quadrangle 3300 Darby Road Haverford, PA, 19041 United States (map)

Delighted to appear in an encore concert of the Boston Beethoven Cycle, this time in Haverford, PA. This evening's recital takes place at The Quadrangle, where my dear friend Ari and I have played for over a decade, and whose Saturday night concert series is co-presented by my dear longtime friend, the great composer Richard Wernick.

Ari and I are honored to share this evening’s concert with two wonderful colleagues and friends, the violinist Emily Daggett Smith and the violist Rosemary Nelis.

It happens, entirely by coincidence, that we’re sharing this last concert just as 2020 begins, just in time to celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday - we’re not unbiased, but it’s undoubtedly the most important holiday of all. We are looking forward to sharing this short hour-long recital of Webern’s astonishing miniatures, the Five Pieces for String Quartet, and Beethoven’s most expansive wonder, Op. 132.

Program:

Anton Webern: Five Pieces for String Quartet, Op. 5

Ari Isaacman-Beck & Emily Daggett Smith, violins
Rosemary Nelis, viola
Gwen Krosnick, cello

Beethoven: String Quartet No. 15 in A minor, Op. 132

Emily Daggett Smith & Ari Isaacman-Beck, violins
Rosemary Nelis, viola
Gwen Krosnick, cello

Free admission; open to the public.
